Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Festival

Can you say, what an awesome book event??? When you throw horror writers like Joe Hill, Chrisopher Golden, Rio Youers, Paul Trembley, Kristin Dearborn, and so many more, into a FREE book event at the Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Festival, how can you NOT have an unbelievable event. It was great catching up with all of my horror friends and I'm already looking forward to more events with them in the coming year.

Great Finish for the Running for Writing Team

Mike and his fellow Running for Writing teammates couldn't have asked for better weather to participate in the Pell Bridge Run on October 22nd in beautiful Newport, RI.  Mike's team ran on behalf of the Association of Rhode Island Authors in order to raise literacy awareness, get books by local authors into the community, and to raise funds for ARIA's signature event, the 5th Annual Rhode Island Authors Expo. We want to thank all of the people who donated to our cause and cheered us on. Get ready, we want YOU to run with us next year!

From Writing to Teacher

From time to time, Mike guest blogs on other literary and author sites.  A few weeks ago he guest blogged on the Fictional Cafe's site with an article titled "From Writing to Teaching."  Mike talks about giving back to the community while expanding your writing portfolio.

Social Networking, Self-Marketing, and Self-Promotion Seminar

On Thursday, June 14th, Mike presented a PowerPoint presentation on the benefits of enhancing your online prescence at the Church of the Advent in Coventry, RI. Most of the participants were from the Association of Rhode Island Authors and they all learned valuable lessons about domain registration, website creation, the benefits of thinking outside the box with their marketing strategies, and the best way to utilize social networking.  The class was such a big hit that he will be running it again in the near future.  Look for updates coming soon.  In the meantime, here are some photos from the event courtesy of Guy J. Natelli.  For more pictures from the event, visit my Social Networking, Self-Marketing, and Self-Promotion Facebook Photo Album.
